Diane Royal, MS
As Program Associate, Diane supports several technical projects and the program's budget strategy, while leading consultant management activities. She first joined the IMPT Secretariat in October 2012 after receiving a Master of Science in Global Health Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her master’s thesis research aimed to inform the development of a genetically modified biotherapeutic microbicide (MucoCept®) to reduce the risk of HIV transmission in women. Previously, Diane worked as a Community Organizer for AIDS Walk San Francisco. She holds a BA from the University of San Francisco (USF).
Diane re-joined the IMPT Secretariat in October 2016 and is in the final stages of completing a Master of Arts in Anthropology at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. Since moving to Newfoundland in 2014, Diane has conducted ethnographic research with commuting workers across several transportation sectors. She enjoys spending time with family, having outdoor adventures with her dog, Sam, and reading.
