CAMI Health Initiatives
Our initiatives focus on transformative areas where prevention can have a profound impact on women’s health.
-
Preventing unintended pregnancies allows women to make empowered choices about if and when to have children, ensuring they can provide the care and stability their children need, and giving those children the best possible start in life.
-
Preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, safeguards women from long-term health consequences such as infertility, chronic conditions, and even life-threatening complications, ensuring they have healthier futures.
-
Preventing advanced-stage breast cancer saves lives by increasing the chances of successful treatment through early detection, helping women live longer, healthier lives.
Through collaboration with researchers, healthcare providers, advocates, and women themselves, we are driving research and turning scientific discoveries into practical prevention strategies. Our work empowers women with the knowledge and choices they need to safeguard their health.
By focusing on areas with the greatest potential for change, we are closing gaps in prevention, ensuring that women everywhere have the resources, support, and information they need to maintain their sexual and reproductive health at every stage of life. Together, we are making a lasting difference in the lives of women.

Infectious Disease & Contraception
The Initiative for Multipurpose Prevention Technologies (IMPT) advances the development of products that provide simultaneous prevention from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies by partnering with researchers, funders, and advocates. Launched in 2009, the IMPT fosters multidisciplinary, global collaboration to empower women with choice and access to address their diverse health needs .

Advancing Early Breast Cancer Screening for Prevention
Our initiative is dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and access to the tools and technologies they need to make informed decisions about their breast cancer risk and prevention. We are working toward a future where every woman has the choice to manage her health proactively and collaboratively with her healthcare provider.
