The CAMI Health Team

Hannah Rubens, Intern

Hannah Rubens joined the CAMI Health and IMPT Secretariat teams in June 2021 as a Public Health Intern.  In this role, Hannah is providing research assistance and communications support for IMPT Secretariat initiatives, furthering the development of the MPT Resource Hub, and other outreach activities to engage partners and stakeholders in advancing the MPT field.

Hannah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Science from Santa Clara University, where she was involved in multiple research projects related to health equity and health education. Most notably, Hannah supported an interdisciplinary team of engineers and community partners in developing an e-learning platform to bring health education to youth in refugee camps in Cameroon, Africa. Another formative experience included co-creating an educational website discussing the history and legacy of redlining in San Jose, CA, as well as delineating actionable steps to remediating its unequal impact on health outcomes today. On campus, she worked as part of the Arts for Social Justice Initiative to promote critical conversation and awareness about social justice issues through the arts.

Most recently, Hannah has supported Santa Clara County’s COVID-19 response efforts by assisting in the development of a program to provide resources to families most impacted by the pandemic. These experiences have informed her ambition to utilize the interdisciplinary potential of public health to mitigate social and structural barriers to health and well-being among marginalized groups. Outside of work, Hannah spends her time hiking with friends, painting, and seeking out the perfect spot to set up a hammock.
